Here’s a bit about my approach, and what I believe in.
I trust my process.
The best designed systems consider the needs of both the business and end user, and consider all potential variables. For this reason I strongly believe in starting every project with an extensive research and planning phase, to gather information and begin to evaluate the pathways to a successful execution.
I want to meet your business goals.
Leaning on both academic and anecdotal evidence, as well as my own personal experience, I seek to work collaboratively with you to achieve a product that speaks to your users, reduces cognitive load and smooths task flows.
I aim to support your end users.
When approaching UI/UX design, I follow Jakob Nielsen’s usability heuristics to ensure users feel supported while engaging with each system. I find some of these heuristics can also apply in other design areas, such as placing value on being visually consistent, relying on established best practices, and valuing recognition over recall.
I believe that good design is for everyone.
Where possible, I aim to adhere to the WCAG standards for accessible design. Despite the standard’s focus on online platforms, I aim to incorporate this standard in all mediums to ensure my work can communicate effectively to all who engage with it.
I have experience in aligning with this standard for a range of clients, so you can rest assured that accessibility does not always come at the cost of clear and consistent branding.
