My skills and experience
After 4 years of exposure to the web industry I have built a solid foundational knowledge of frontend development and UX-focused design. Through self-directed learning and practice, I have reached competency in developing websites from scratch with WordPress, developing web-based applications with React, and applying continuous UX improvements to my projects.
My current career goals are to continue to grow my frontend development and UX capabilities, including (but not limited to) building headless environments, building React apps, and conducting UX research.
My graphic design qualifications mean I have a keen eye for clear visual communication, and the ability to balance positive user outcomes with business motivations. Having worked both for an agency and as an in-house designer/developer, I understand the importance of addressing business needs and providing robust solutions based on data and evidence.
I look forward to working together.

Where I’ve worked
Bankwest
Senior Experience Designer
April 2024 – Current
Experience Designer
Jun 2023 – April 2024
As part of Bankwest’s experience design team, I have had the opportunity to design key journeys for the Bankwest mobile app and website, revolving around the bank’s home loan products.
As Assetivity’s one-man communications team I had the opportunity to apply my skills as designer and developer in a holistic fashion. I was hired to bring a new, digitally-focused approach to the company’s marketing, and delivered a revised brand strategy, website and digital products in under a year at the company.
This role allowed me to strengthen my understanding of business needs and how best to meet these objectives using my design and development skillset. In contrast to a purely marketing-focused role, I had a very hands-on involvement in both developing and executing design and development projects.
Aside from design and development-centric projects, this role allowed me to become proficient in Zoho products, advertising via Google Ads and utilising Google Tag Manager.
Some of my achievements at Assetivity include:
- Increased public training revenue by over 180% compared to previous 3 years
- Increased mailing list growth by 270%
- Increased digital conversion rate by 90%
Some major projects include:
- Brand refresh
I solved Assetivity’s ongoing issue of a lack of centralised brand style and guidelines with a revision to the brand visuals, as well as a global brand purpose and position statement to guide future material. These brand guidelines were then used internally as a key reference for my work over the following 2 years. - Website overhaul
Previously a Joomla site, I developed a ground-up custom theme for Assetivity’s new WordPress site, migrated previous content and transferred to WooCommerce as a solution for the company’s public training course offerings. Past sales data was able to be captured in Assetivity’s CRM, with new bookings made via WooCommerce being automatically captured in the CRM via webhook. - React self-service assessment tool
I identified a self-service tool as a potentially effective lead generation tool after becoming familiar with the needs of our clients. What followed was a detailed planning phase, including preliminary customer journey mapping, which then led to a Figma prototype. The final app was then developed in React using a mixture of ACF and WordPress custom post types as the backend. The tool includes asynchronous data fetching via AJAX and global state via react-redux, and authentication via WordPress.
As a Graphic Designer, I was hired as a maternity cover before being made permanent shortly after. I was able to be exposed to a wide variety of digital design and development work, with a healthy dose of print design for good measure.
Working closely within a small team, I was able to learn many new development skills and gained a valuable insight into the web design industry. In the latter half of my time at Slick, I acted as a web developer as well as a web and graphic designer, offering a wide scope of service to clients.
As a relatively self-driven and independent role, my time at Slick allowed me to work on my account management skills and become more confident in my own time and workload management. I participated, and in some cases led, the full project pipeline – from proposal development to account management and delivery.
Some major projects include:
- User experience audit and development for ERGT Australia
- Print and digital collateral for GenesisCare Australia
- Website design for Guardian Exercise Rehabilitation
Some other notable clients include Shell Australia, Western Power, Hawaiian and UDIA.
My time at Spice was the perfect opportunity to further my print knowledge and supplement my duties as a graphic designer. This involved operation of printing equipment including an Océ flatbed and Zund CNC cutter.
I was able to pick up these systems within a matter of days and operate independently for the rest of my time at Spice. During this time I took the opportunity to familiarise myself with the considerations of large format print, both from a production and a design perspective.

Whenever I get the chance 👏
Occasionally I will find myself working on jobs through word of mouth or client recommendation. While I do not actively seek freelance projects, I have had the privilege to work with clients such as the Town of Victoria Park, Lux Events and a number of small businesses. Primarily, my core services have included brand identities. motion graphics and campaign collateral.
